These are the HP Latex 700 and 800 Series that promise faster workflows and greater versatility to take on projects of varying complexity. It also featured an updated range of Latex Print and Cut and new large-format additions for corporate presentations.
At a global event on January 28, HP introduced a range of new Latex Large Formar printing solutions to help print service providers diversify their offerings and meet more challenging customer needs.
In his introduction on Signage market trends, Guayente Sanmartin, Global Head and General Manager, Large Format Printing at HP, assured that the challenges facing the company’s customers today have to do with signage for social distancing. , establishing a new category of high turnover; online shopping, with an acceleration of online business development with growth rates of 130%; and “security first” with limited mobility, that is, keeping the business running remotely. He also highlighted that the company’s strategy in the Signage & Decor markets has to do with three pillars: technological leadership, capturing new pages and leading sustainability.
“When you think about HP Latex, imagine the unique ability to say yes to every customer request, regardless of fast-changing schedule or application demands. Help meet deadlines with undisputable operator and environmental safety, as, with HP Latex, every signage & decor decision becomes a sustainable one,” she said. In the same sense, she emphasized that the new Latex 700 and 800 will allow PSPs to win big by navigating customer challenges in the next normal and embracing more ambitious projects.
Indeed, the HP Latex 700 and 800 series offer a set of features that will allow PSPs to not only be more agile and take on higher-value jobs, but also get faster workflows to meet the most demanding deadlines.
The new HP Latex range includes the HP Latex 700 and 800, and the HP Latex 700W and 800W which offer white ink capability for the first time in this category. The company assured that it is the whitest white ink available on the market and that it does not yellow over time, enabling print businesses to produce neater outlines and add more contrast to darker supports.
Regarding the upgraded printheads, HP reported that they have more nozzles and produce speeds of up to 36 m2/h, allowing the Latex 800 and 800W models to offer 50% higher productivity levels compared to previous HP models. Moreover, HP PrintOS also enables PSPs to monitor and control their print fleet through a cloud-based interface.
According to a HP research, in future purchases, 84% of PSPs highlight sustainability as a very important feature for their 2021/2022 planning. In that sense, the company said that all four devices in the HP Latex 700 and 800 series use the HP Eco Carton – a cartridge made with cardboard material, which reduces the amount of plastic used by 80%. In this sense, Sanmartin referred to the HP Planet Partners program for the recycling and return of printing consumables.
HP Latex Print and Cut Plus
HP has also introduced an updated Latex Print and Cut portfolio that is fully compatible with the Latex 700 and 800 Series. Equipped with the latest Raster Image Processor (RIP) software and completely new contour cutters, the devices allow for improved usability – making jobs easier and more intuitive than ever for signage and decorative printed applications.
This new line includes the HP Latex 335, 315 and 115 Print and Cut Plus models; HP Latex 64 and 54 Plus cutting solutions; and Latex 54 Basic Plus. Updated features include optimized cutting accuracy through through the enhanced Optical Position System (OPOS) configurations. Moreover, for a better user experience on the color touchscreen interface, it includes an improved menu. HP PageWide XL
HP also announced the new additions to the HP PageWide XL suite of large format print solutions. Aimed at enterprise and mid-market companies, as well as print reprohouses serving the architecture, engineering and construction industries, the new HP PageWide XL devices provide fast, simple, and secure solutions. The new range includes the PageWide XL 3920, XL 4200, XL 4700 and XL 5200 multifunction models; and the PageWide XL 8200 printer.
With the 4200, 4700 and 5200 models boasting a larger front panel – increased to 15.6 inches (from 8 inches) – it is easier for users to preview real-time scans and undertake more complex printing tasks. Additionally, for the first time, users can carry out post-editing tasks, including crop, contrast, brightness, and rotation directly from the panel. In terms of security, they include HP SecureBoot, Whitelisting and HP Connection Inspector.
