Established since 1998 in South Florida, USA, CBM Trading has served the needs of reseller companies in the following industries: Printing Services, Printing and Copy Centers, Software Solutions, Stores, Office Supplies, etc. Founded by Hanspeter Ehrler and Edwin Peter (both from Switzerland), it began its operation as an exclusive distributor of Canon business equipment for Venezuela and Colombia. In 2002, with the incorporation of Persy Sanchez to the company and joined by Doris Brena, Financial Manager, who is currently part of the organization, they added the Consumer line and expanded the contract to the rest of Latin America, except for the countries where the Japanese brand has a subsidiary.
Today, in addition to Canon, CMB has direct factory contracts with Kyocera and Sharp, and also has a distribution agreement for the entire region with Iris (scanners), while with Epson they are distributors for the Caribbean -except for the Dominican Republic-, to which they add Ricoh and Konika Minolta products as traders.
CMB TRADING’S FOCUS IS ON THE GOVERNMENT, CORPORATE AND SOHO SEGMENTS, THROUGH VARS THROUGHOUT THE REGION.
When it comes to the main strengths, CMB emphasizes the direct relationship with manufacturers, the access to all products and models at all times, the delivery fulfillment and the access to support and training with direct technical resources from the brands.
«We are a specialized distributor with distribution from a port like Miami where most are distributors who add more brands to their portfolio. In addition, we do everything in a customer-friendly way, with the flexibility that a small company can offer,» said Sanchez.
«EVERYTHING WE SELL IS PLACED IN MIAMI, WITH TWO PEOPLE DEDICATED TO LOGISTICS. WE DON’T WANT TO BECOME A LOGISTICS COMPANY, BUT WE DO KNOW HOW IMPORTANT IT IS FOR OUR CLIENTS TO HAVE THAT ITEM COVERED.»
Finally, Mr. Sanchez added that CMB’s current goal is to grow and develop to become a 360-degree service provider: with technical training to support the equipment it sells to its corporate and government clients, and «to be a facilitator to offer those who have developed the print outsourcing service everything they need, such as calculation tools for cost structure, service management, etc., in addition to integrating software provided by manufacturers and third parties into our portfolio,» he explained.
