CES 2022: HP unveils its latest gaming lineup

Under the OMEN brand, it presented new desktops, including the 45L model with OMEN Cryo Chamber, a new CPU cooling solution; while Victus launched its first small form factor desktop for a general audience.

HP today unveiled its latest gaming lineup with the revolutionary OMEN 45L desktop, the enhanced OMEN 25L desktop, the powerful and small footprint Victus by HP 15L desktop, and the first OMEN 27u 4K gaming monitor ready for use with next-generation consoles. The company also made updates to the OMEN 16 and 17 laptops, and introduced a new coverage plan to help protect users’ gaming ecosystem.

The gaming industry is not only growing, it is constantly evolving, as today’s culture has brought 2.7 billion people online, almost 35% of the world’s population. Women play a key role in the development and progress of this space: 60% of new gamers belong to this group. In addition, 30% of new gamers are under 252 years old, demonstrating that it is becoming a form of generational entertainment and social connection that continues to boom.

In fact, the social aspect behind video games is one of the main reasons for playing: 84% of gamers say they play to connect with people who have similar interests, 80% use video games to meet new people, and 77% play to keep in touch with friends.

“We live in an era where more and more people are gaming, and gamers have never been more diverse or vocal about their customization needs,” said Josephine Tan, Global Headline and General Manager of Consumer PCs at HP Inc. “From our powerful tower desktops to our 4k monitor compatible with next-generation consoles and our best-in-class ecosystem coverage plan, our CES lineup was designed for gamers to socialize, stay connected and entertained with the best hardware and software that reflects their individual needs.”

The OMEN 45L desktop makes waves with a patented CPU cooling solution under the name OMEN Cryo Chamber. This compartment is located up to 43 mm3 above the interior of the main tower and can hold up to 360 mm of AiO liquid coolant, resulting in 6°C lower CPU temperatures at full load compared to an identical model without this feature. It works by drawing cooler ambient air from outside the desktop to cool the radiator instead of using air from the main interior actively heated by the CPU, GPU and other components. For those who prefer a more traditional tower design, the newly released OMEN 40L desktop features the same configuration as its bigger sibling, but without OMEN Cryo Chamber and one less 120mm fan, resulting in a slightly smaller upright tower.

To support this important segment, the OMEN 45L ATX chassis – integrated with the innovative OMEN Cryo Chamber – will be available for sale in the coming weeks.

Gaming performance and expandability

The OMEN 25L desktop, which was unveiled last spring, delivers an innovative design with refined tool-less thermal features in a style that is both simple and modern. The desktop’s aesthetic appearance is enhanced with the highly anticipated white color – a first for an OMEN desktop – along with a tempered glass side panel (optional) to highlight its beautiful interior, which features RGB lighting via the OMEN Gaming Hub. The OMEN 27u 4K gaming monitor debuts as OMEN’s first HDMI 2.1 and the first gaming monitor for next-generation consoles. The 4K gaming market is expanding rapidly with year-over-year growth of 257% in the EU, 237% in APJ, and 185% in EMEA, while 6 out of 10 gamers check if their monitors are compatible with their console during the purchase process.
