Global Launch of The New Next Generation Semi-Rugged Notebook

Getac’s new semi-rugged S410 notebook offers better performance, graphics capability, and configurable options to improve efficiency in demanding work environments.

Getac announced the launch of its next-generation S410 semi-rugged notebook, which offers increased productivity, reliability and configurability for professionals on the go working under the demanding conditions of the defense, manufacturing, public safety, utility and automotive sectors.

Exceptional brightness and performance all day

The new S410 offers superior performance for the whole day, a new brighter screen, and improved memory and processing power, all in a widely recognized Getac design. Key features include 11th Gen Intel Core i5/i7 processors with integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics, PCIe NVMe SSD by default, and removable storage that improves the efficiency of daily workflows and graphic consuming tasks.

The S410 also has cutting-edge connectivity, thanks to its Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 module, which is compatible with the new IEEE 802.11ax standard, enabling smooth streaming of high-resolution video with fewer interruptions and faster connections, even further away from a wireless router. Thunderbolt 4 technology provides ultra-fast transfer speeds for large amounts of data, while making it easy to exchange that data with other devices.

A brighter screen (up to 1,000 nits), along with LumiBond 2.0 technology, ensures comfortable viewing outdoors, even when one is under the direct sunlight. Additionally, the S410 is expandable and can accommodate up to three batteries, ensuring there is no downtime from shift to shift. The backlit keyboard makes it easy to work in low-light environments, while a larger touchpad gives the user a smoother experience with fewer errors when entering data.

As you would expect from Getac rugged products, the S410 is MIL-STD-810H certified, withstands one-meter drops, and has a wide operating temperature range of -29 °C to 63 °C (-20 °F to 145 °F). Compliance with the IP53 rating allows users to operate in light rain and dusty conditions without fear of damaging the unit.

Getac Select Program, adapted to the industry needs

The S410 is part of the Getac Select program, which combines robust preset devices, software, accessories and professional services into a total solution optimized for both individual applications and groups of users. The main software tools available with the S410 are Getac Driving Safety Utility and Getac Device Monitoring System (GDMS).

Wide variety of configurable options

A wide variety of preset options make the S410 best suited to meet the demands of professionals in the public safety, industrial manufacturing, field utility, and automotive sectors, whether on patrol or on the shop floor.

Flexibility in manufacturing

The S410 allows you to enter data in a variety of ways, whether using the stylus, fingers, or gloves, making it ideal for manufacturing environments such as workrooms and production lines. Its portable design, with a sturdy carrying handle, provides greater mobility for production managers. To ensure continuous work throughout the day, the S410 accommodates up to three batteries that can be hot-swapped to last multiple shifts. Configuration options for the S410 are diverse, supporting a variety of new and legacy I / O ports for more robust industrial computational operations and factory automation operations.

Ideal for diagnostics in automotive workshops and R&D engineering

The S410 is compatible with the latest automotive diagnostic software, and has at the same time the latest in wired and wireless connectivity, including the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201, which offers real-time access to on-board diagnostics and to high-speed vehicle tests. The S410 is also ideal for automotive R&D and engineering professionals who need to quickly and accurately collect data, as well as perform vehicle tests and verifications in a wide range of environments, both on and off-road.

Perfect for patrols day or night, in a vehicle or outdoors.

The operations of members of Public Safety can include changing situations that become particularly demanding when teams are operating full days or in tight spaces, but the S410 is always ready.  Its backlit keyboard and new larger touch panel help minimize data entry errors, even in the dark, while also offering a variety of vehicle docking solutions designed and thought specifically for the S410. It also offers a superior level of data protection through multi-factor authentication options in compliance with the United States federal CJIS, including the Windows Hello webcam, RFID reader, fingerprint scanner and Smart Card reader.

Reliable connectivity and security for utility work in the field

Asset management for utilities can be challenging as constant remote access to a central database is required to synchronize information, manage and communicate with staff, and perform GIS mapping. With the S410, field service technicians can obtain schematics, generate purchase orders, check inventory, and even videoconference with a remote expert to quickly resolve issues thanks to the built-in WLAN / BT / WWAN / GPS. Getac also works with partners to provide connectivity management with built-in security. To accommodate the different needs of field workers, and to connect various devices and legacy infrastructure, multiple I / O configurations are available that give the S410 the precise and necessary features.

Optimize uptime and reliability with Getac Device Monitoring System (GDMS)

Getac’s Device Monitoring System (GDMS) helps organizations maintain the operational efficiency of their installed devices. GDMS, part of the Getac Select program, is a software solution that monitors installed devices, detecting potential problems before they affect field personnel, thereby proactively reducing the risk of downtime.

For companies that do not have dedicated IT resources and lack the time or staff to manage devices, Getac offers a world-class service called Getac Device Monitoring System Enterprise Plus (GDMS E +) 2, where trained experts monitor the hardware and the Getac software used by our customers.

“With the new Getac S410, we have responded to the high demand for a semi-rugged notebook that easily adapts to rapidly changing conditions with a wide range of industrial applications,” said Rick Hwang, President of Rugged & Video Solutions Business Group at Getac. “Our permanent commitment to technological advancement, professional service and reliability give our clients the peace of mind of being able to carry out complex field work.”
