Panduit, which owns the company Atlona, announces the appointment of Mauricio Escobar as its new Channel Account Manager for the Caribbean and Latin America for the Audio and Video (AV) unit of the company, who will focus exclusively on the Atlona business.
Under the leadership of Carlos Arochi, Panduit’s Network Infrastructure Director for Latin America, Escobar will be responsible for driving sales growth and business development through its expanding regional channel, as well as managing strategic initiatives that bring Panduit and Atlona together for AV and IT business opportunities.
«Mauricio’s knowledge of the AV and IT market, and his understanding of national and local cultures throughout Latin America, both position him for great success in this important new role,» Arochi said. «Panduit and Atlona believe in the importance of a strong channel partner network to increase sales and brand visibility with the professionals who buy, install and use our products on a daily basis. We are excited about the energy and expertise Mauricio brings to the company and will be looking forward to his contributions.»
Mauricio comes to Atlona with 17 years of experience in the AV and IT industry, and a strong background in channel and sales management. He spent six years at Barco as regional channel sales director, where he successfully led the company’s Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region channel strategy for the ProAV corporate business unit. His strategy placed a strong emphasis on collaboration solutions for the corporate business vertical, which included some of the first BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) systems in the region.
His strong experience in BYOD and collaboration will be essential in introducing Atlona to new corporate and education customers throughout the CALA region, including Mexico, Central and South America.
«Collaboration is an essential part of our lives today, whether within corporate facilities or working from home,» Escobar says, adding that collaboration is now a substantial component in education for blended learning models. «Technology trends are moving faster than ever, and Atlona is relying on a strong channel to ensure that installers and end users understand the value and innovation that Atlona’s collaborative solutions bring. We will work more closely than ever with our distributors, resellers and integrator partners, as well as in new ways, with a greater emphasis on training and education.»
Mauricio adds that Atlona further differentiates itself from its competitors through its relationship with Panduit, which brings a full range of IT infrastructure solutions to complement Atlona’s collaboration, connectivity and control solutions. Mauricio’s expertise in BYOD makes Atlona’s new WAVE-101 wireless presentation system particularly appealing to him, as it will simplify the way content is presented and shared within modern, IT-connected classrooms and meeting spaces.
According to Panduit, the Caribbean and Latin America region is getting bigger and bigger, so the company continues to invest in regional talent to drive the overall growth of the business.
