AMD launched the new Ryzen processors 7 8700F and AMD Ryzen 5 8400F, built on “Zen 4” architecture, manufactured with the TSMC 4nm node, and adding graphics-free options to the current 8000G processor family.
These new processors are optimized for efficiency with low power draw and are unlocked for higher overclocked performance at the touch of a button. Additionally, the 8700F comes equipped with a cutting-edge Neural Processing Unit, or NPU, a dedicated AI engine designed for the ultimate in AI efficiency. Both the Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F are fully unlocked and come equipped with an AMD Wraith Stealth cooler.
Ryzen AI is defined as the combination of CPU (“Zen”), Graphics (AMD RDNA graphics), and NPU (AMD XDNA) based AI accelerators. Although the 8700F processor does not include integrated graphics, if an RDNA3 graphics card is paired with the 8700F, the platform can be considered a Ryzen AI system because it contains all 3 necessary ingredients for Ryzen AI. Because of this, the Ryzen 7 8700F can be considered “Ryzen AI-Ready.”
The new Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F provide more affordable price points for budget-minded users that prefer to invest more of their resources in a discrete graphics card.
