The company announced its latest gaming hardware and software: the OMEN 16 and OMEN 17 laptops, the customizable OMEN 25i Gaming Monitor and Victus by HP, its new brand of next-generation mainstream gaming PCs, with a 16-inch laptop. In addition, it announced the OMEN OASIS Beta gaming community on the OMEN Gaming Hub.
The company stated that two out of three people spend more time watching videos and playing games than before the pandemic, with one out of four playing three to four hours more, and nearly one out of five playing six to 10 more hours a week. “HP’s next-generation gaming portfolio is designed for both veteran gamers and enthusiastic explorers to be entertained, connected and empowered to progress in their favorite games,” they assert.
“Our constant focus with gaming is to create innovative technologies that progress the medium forward for everyone, be it enthusiast level OMEN users or newcomers to this growing and endlessly entertaining industry,” said Judy Johnson, Director of Gaming and Esports, HP Inc. “We are offering a compelling entry point for anyone who wants to game with Victus by HP, high power and performance with new additions to our OMEN line-up, and OASIS, a new feature for OMEN Gaming Hub, to optimise gameplay streaming while bringing people together.”
HP emphasizes that seasoned gamers crave the latest advancements in hardware and software that allow them to experience today’s titles at the max settings so they feel truly immersed when they get a last second multiplayer win or defeat that final boss.
In that sense, it stresses that the latest additions to the OMEN ecosystem are focused on delivering new experiences that go beyond the expected to keep gamers connected, entertained and excited for what’s next.
OMEN 16
- Top-tier performance: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB graphics or AMD RDNA 2 architecture-based graphics. Intel Core i7-11800H7 series processors or AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX 8-core mobile processors. Up to 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz and up to 1 TB PCIe Gen 4×4 SSD or up to two 1 TB PCIe SSDs with Raid 09 support.
- Bursts of power: HP’s innovations in internal design continue to push the limits of what’s possible with blades that are 2.5 times thinner and have a more than 200% increase in the number of blades compared to the OMEN 15, so airflow is increased to meet the demands of powerful internal components. Meanwhile, gaming sessions last longer from any location with increased battery capacity from 52.5Whr to 83Whr for up to 9 hours of battery life.
OMEN 17:
- Desktop gaming: 16GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU with up to 165W maximum TGP and up to one Intel Core i9-11900H7 processor. Up to 32GB of DDR4 3200 MHz memory and up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4×4 SSD9 or up to two 1TB PCIe SSDs with Raid 0 support.
- Chill Blades: Addition of 24 more blades that are 17% thinner along with a 14% larger output aperture ratio, contributing to a -5°C reduction in temperature on the keyboard surface platform compared to the previous generation and keeping gamers’ palms feeling comfortable.
OMEN 16 and OMEN 17:
- Immersive images: Up to QHD16 165Hz IPS panel with 3ms response time and 100% sRGB. For the first time on OMEN laptops, experience color-accurate low blue light with TÜVRheinlan Eyesafe display certification to keep your eyes cool during extended gaming sessions. Bright visuals also switch to the keyboard with per-key RGB lighting with OMEN Gaming Hub Light Studio integration for a look that lives up to any gaming setup theme.
- Thermal advances: Efficient cooling is simplified by OMEN Tempest Cooling Technology with Dynamic Power, OMEN Gaming Hub performance control and Undervolting, internal component management eliminates speculations to run resource-intensive titles efficiently.
- Expansion is quick and simple with single panel access to the SSD and RAM via Phillips head screws at the base of both laptops for easy hardware changes. It also comes with Wi-Fi 6E and a built-in 1x Thunderbolt 4 port.
